Why I am who I am

My paternal grandmother was Edith. And I take after her in more ways than one. Besides getting her curvaceous figure, I cook with the same abandon that she did. Never following rules and having fun the whole time. There is a sink full of dishes when I’m done. Nothing like my grandfather. He was a doctor and he cooked in a very organized fashion. They each had things they cooked and I don’t remember them ever cooking together. They were in the same kitchen, but they weren’t collaborators. What is funny is that it was my grandfather’s parents that were caterers. My grandmothers side, they were the performers. I guess that’s why I became a personal chef. When I cook it’s like I’m performing for my clients. The entire dinner is an event, an experience that you remember for a long time to come.
